Project Overview:
NBC Universal Media Village is the official distribution point for media content (journalists, bloggers etc.) to find comprehensive resources related to owned networks and every show.
The site would be completely redesigned and accessible as an iOS app as well as on the web powered by Amazon Cloud Services.
My Involvement:
•    Prototype, creating wireframes and comps and documentation.
•    Validate technical feasibility of the solutions with the development team.
•    Creating a Functional Specification document.
•    Writing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Cases and Testing.
•    Assist the Creative Director with project estimation and defining scope of work.
Objectives - Redesign
Modern Design
Redesigned site would be to be simpler, easier to navigate and scalable for a wide range of modern devices, including phones and ultra wide screens.
More Emphasis on the Networks
Focus needs to be more on the individual networks and the shows than the parent company.
Streamline Navigation
Define clear hierarchy between primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. There should be lateral navigation between related content and parent and child sections. The titles for the menus and navigation elements needed revision.
Content Priority and Cleanup
Identify and prioritize relevant content. A lot of obsolete content needs removal, such as discontinued shows, profiles of ex-employees, and press releases.
Efficient Content Management
The existing site's Content Management System (CMS) was outdated and cumbersome to use. The new system would be more efficient and able to identify and phase out any obsolete content once expired. Custom API's would be used to sync metadata like synopsis for individual episodes, run time, related content as well as connection to external sources such as Salesforce for executive information.
Objectives - New Features
Watch Screeners
Ability for an authorized user to watch screeners for a selected show within the site. Users will also be able to view synopsis for each season and individual episodes as well as allowing them to quickly grasp the show's direction.
Events Section
Ability to feature up to 3 events at a time. A specially curated selection of shows would be featured for the executives to promote. Each show would have its own set of screeners. There would also be  sections for videos, photos and press releases related to the event.
Advanced Search
Site searches would be completely redesigned to be more efficient and have more features. Once a search is performed, it would stay persistent in the background until the user cleared it or the session expired, which would help the user to continue from where they left off and refine it, rather than starting over.
Content Filters, Sort and View Type
A user would be able to narrow or widen the content in a variety of ways, such as by network or date range. The user would also have the ability to sort alphabetically or by added date, and switch between list and grid view where applicable.
